What is a Bernedoodle? A Bernedoodle is a goofy, fun, loving ball of perfection that is sure to put a smile on your face each and every day. Bernedoodles have a special magical power, the ability to just gaze into your soul and make you melt.

The Bernedoodle is a cross between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Poodle. Bernese Mountain Dogs are striking, beautiful tri-colored, large dogs. They are intelligent, strong and agile enough to do the draft work for which they were used. The Bernese’s confident, alert, calm and affectionate nature, especially toward children, makes them a versatile breed suitable for any home! The Bernedoodle hybrid fuses the virtues of its parent breeds – the cleverness of the poodle with the loyalty of the Bernese, making it a perfect family dog. Eager to please, loyal and playful! The breeds help balance each other out, creating the most amazing family members, service and therapy dogs.

Bernedoodles can come in a multitude of colors and combinations. Our program focuses on producing lovely nonfading coats in tricolor, black and white, black phantom, as well as any of those combinations being merle.

The coat of a Bernedoodle can also vary puppy to puppy depending on their parents genetics. They can come furnished or unfurnished.

Furnished meaning they shed very minimally and grow longer hair, but do require more frequent brushing and grooming.
- Coats can come in a variety of textures: straight, wavy and curly
- Furnished coats tend to be best for homes with allergies because of the hair and dander reduction.
  - No doodle is 100% hypoallergenic, but the reduction of shedding commonly found with the Bernese Mountain dog, is dramatically reduced with adding in the genetics of the poodle.

Unfurnished meaning they will have a coat more similar to a Bernese and shed more like a Bernese, but require less grooming and maintenance.
- Unfurnished Bernedoodles are an amazing option for those looking to add a Bernese but prefer a smaller size, healthier overall dog with a much longer lifespan.

We absolutely love and adore the Bernese as a breed, but with such a limited gene pool and alot of inbreeding in their lineage their average life span is only around 7 years. Cancer and joint problems is a very common health concern in the Bernese breed. BUT adding in new genetics can diversify the genes enough to double their life span and create healthier happier dogs.

Why do we use the poodle? We use the poodle because poodles have an overall amazing health record and are extremely intelligent. The combination of these two breeds has produced amazing family companions over and over.
